I can imagine someone saying; 'which one be Heel hang-over again?'. Well, I am glad to inform you that it's not just alcohol that gives you a hang-over, wearing heels can too...
Surprised? Okay, have you spent the previous day tottering around in towering heels and you wake up with aching calves and feet? Well, we call it the high-heel hangover.
So, now that we have established that fact, how do we recover from this annoying pain?
FOOT STRETCHING EXERCISE
Stretching exercises including certain yoga positions are helpful in relaxing the tendons and muscles in your feet and lower legs.
WEAR A SNICKERS
After a particularly big heel binge, it’s a good idea to give your feet a chance to relax. Walking around barefoot is ideal but also impractical, so a flat-soled trainer is the next best thing.
SOAK FOOT IN WARM WATER
A hot bath helps ease tired muscles. Try adding salts, which are loaded with natural minerals including magnesium and sulphate. The skin absorbs the magnesium, which helps the body to build and repair tissues.
APPLY MOISTURIZERS
Moisturizers will help. The application of a moisturizer can be combined with a foot rub or massage, and will keep the skin on your feet supple and smooth.
IF NOTHING WORKS
Like alcohol-induced hangovers, taking ibuprofen can make you feel a lot better. It’s an anti-inflammatory, so will take the inflammation out of the foot and ease the agony.
So, that is it for now. Do you know of any other tips that helps? feel free to drop a comment.
Thanks.
