"A young man full of life, promise and exuberance wakes up and leaves the shelter of his single mother because he believes he has a vision which is being suppresses by his mother. He wants his freedom and succeeds at it.
He leaves to manage his own affairs but apparently his mother was a better manager. With all the resources he has, both natural and acquired; wisdom, intellect, beauty, education and money, he is unable to make use of it to improve his life. He is still poor. He goes back to his mother every now and then to beg for money and will use the money to 'celebrate' with his peers who bring him so much fulfilment and a sense of belonging. Well he has great guts too, he borrows from his mother's friends and enemies too. I always wonder what his mom feels about that though. Improper management!
He is a civil servant and is 58 years old going on 59 next March. He goes on retirement next two years. Will there be a drastic change in the next two years which will see things improve in his life? Personally, I doubt it because if it takes 58 years to build weak structures, 2 years will definitely not be enough for a total overhaul; but a great starting point. Well, he is such an interesting man, let's give him that. Such a high sense of humor and he makes a joke out of every situation, even the very serious situations.
His hobbies are party politics, playing football, and borrowing. His name is Ghana but his folks from back in the day call him Gold Coast, such a detailed descriptive expression of an irony. Kofi is alive. Still alive; there is hope!".
